A first time for everything

Yesterday we had a great day in Payson hanging out and watching an AMAZING fireworks show. Carter had a hard time napping but ended up falling asleep during the fireworks show. He kept waking up until we got on the road home. We didn't think much of his sleep problems at the time.

Carter woke up at 3 and didn't really want his bottle. He was up again at 6 and that's when we realized he had a fever and a barky cough. We called the on-call doctor at our pediatrician's office and she suggested we take him to the hospital because of his cough.

So we took him to Cardon Children's Hospital and after seeing the doctor they told us he has croup. They gave him dose of a long-lasting steroid and told us to keep giving him Tylenol for the fever. He's such a trooper. He doesn't feel very good but he's still in pretty good spirits.

Oh croup, you've visited our house on more than one occasion, though I really hope to never see you again. It totally sucks when your child is sick and there's nothing you can really do for them. Hang in there and I'm sure he'll feel better soon.
